Description

John Randolph Buttolph (1841-1926) enlisted, 1861, in the Second Iowa Battery, and was in the service until 1865, participating in several hard-fought battles. He was discharged at Davenport, Iowa, and died at Pilot Mound, Iowa, 26 April 1926. These Memoirs were transcribed by his grandson, Col. Loren Dwight Buttolph (1907-1988), and are submitted, with the permission of his heirs, by John Lucius Buttolph, III.
